questions

does beans need a subscription?

no. one payment unlocks beans for good. new customers get a welcome price for the first 48 hours after they first open the app. 3D models are optional and sold as packs that never expire, and the unlock includes your first one.

which grinders and machines does it work with?

any. tell beans your grinder’s own scale once, stepless or with clicks, and every shot is logged on those numbers. it suggests a starting point for each new bag from your setup.

does it work offline?

yes for logging shots and browsing your shelf: your bags and shots are stored on your iPhone. looking up a new bag and making a 3D model need a connection.

what leaves my phone?

there is no account and no sign-in. to look up a bag, the text read from its label goes through our server to an AI model. making a 3D model sends a cut-out photo of the bag to Meshy. beans asks before either happens the first time. the privacy policy has the full list.

which iPhones does it run on?

any iPhone on iOS 27 or later.
