support
email help@humanmadethings.co.uk. one person reads it, so expect a reply within a few days rather than within the hour.
refunds and billing are handled by Apple, not us. the links for those are below.
getting in touch
email is the only channel, and it goes to a person rather than a queue: help@humanmadethings.co.uk.
if something is broken, four things make it findable in one reply instead of four: which iPhone you have, which version of iOS it runs, the app version, and what you did just before it went wrong. a screenshot of the screen you were on is worth more than a description of it.
we cannot see your bags, photographs or shots, and we hold no copy of them, so a bug report has to bring its own evidence. that is the trade for your data never leaving your phone.
restoring a purchase
on a new phone, or after reinstalling, open the paywall and tap restore. it brings back the lifetime unlock, which belongs to your Apple account. sign in to the same one.
render packs are different: they are credits tied to an identifier kept in your phone’s Keychain. a reinstall, an iCloud backup restore or a phone-to-phone transfer keeps them. a phone set up as new does not, and we cannot move them across.
a render did not arrive
a render is spent when a finished model reaches your phone, not when you tap, and a failed generation costs nothing. if your balance looks wrong, first restore (above) and check you are online, then email with roughly when you bought or generated it and, for a purchase, the order number from Apple’s receipt.
a 3D bag came out wrong
models are made by a third party’s AI and no two attempts match. you have two choices from the bag: show it as its photograph, which costs nothing, or redo the 3D, which spends a render and asks first. a redo replaces the old model, and there is no undo.
the lookup found nothing, or the wrong coffee
the web lookup is a helper, not a promise. it needs a connection and a real iPhone, and it can miss a roaster’s page. everything on the form can be typed by hand, and nothing you typed is ever overwritten by a lookup. “look it up again” is on the coffee’s details, a few times per bag.
offline
scanning, saving, logging shots and everything on the shelf works with no signal. only the web lookup, buying and 3D renders need one.
refunds and billing
Apple handles every part of a purchase. we cannot see your payment details or refund on your behalf.
- to request a refund, use Apple’s own form at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- the full terms are on the terms of use page.
your data, and getting rid of it
bags and shots live on your iPhone. they are included in an encrypted iPhone backup, so restoring a backup restores them. deleting the app deletes them, and we have no copy to send you. what leaves the phone, and what does not, is in the privacy policy.
accessibility
beans is built for VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast. if something is unusable with any of them, that is a bug and worth an email.
