support
email support@freewrite.co.uk. one person reads it, so expect a reply within a few days rather than within the hour.
subscriptions, refunds and cancellations are handled by Apple, not by us — the links for those are below.
getting in touch
email is the only channel, and it goes to a person rather than a queue: support@freewrite.co.uk.
if something is broken, four things make it findable in one reply instead of four: which iPhone you have, which version of iOS it runs, the app version from settings, and what you did just before it went wrong. a screenshot of the screen you were on is worth more than a description of it.
we cannot see your entries and we hold no copy of them, so a bug report has to bring its own evidence — there is nothing on our side to look up. that is the trade for your writing never leaving your phone.
subscriptions, cancelling and refunds
freewrite is free to use. the optional subscription unlocks the AI features, and Apple handles every part of it — we cannot see your payment details, cancel on your behalf, or issue a refund.
- to cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- to request a refund, use Apple's own form at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- to restore a subscription on a new device, open the paywall in the app and tap restore.
the full terms are on the terms of use page.
your writing, and getting it out
entries live on your iPhone. they are included in an encrypted iPhone backup, so restoring a backup restores your writing; deleting the app deletes it, and we have no copy to send you.
what is collected, what is not, and the one feature that can send text off the device are set out in the privacy policy.
before you email
the questions on the front page cover the ones that come up most: what freewriting is, how long a session should be, whether an account is needed, and what don't-stop mode actually blocks.
accessibility
freewrite supports VoiceOver, Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion. if something is unusable with any of them, that is a bug and worth an email — those reports are the ones we can act on fastest, because they are reproducible without your writing.
